Week 14

This course has opened my eyes to changes or goals I can make to my life.   I do know I do not want to be an entrepreneur.   I enjoy my job and enjoy having hobbies on the side that I can do at my leisure.   I also know that I can rethink how I look at my job.   I focus too much on what I make and if I will get a raise each year.   In reality, when looking at my finances earning more money isn’t necessary.   I can be better with my finances, putting money to the side for future needs.   Taking my focus off of my salary will allow me to focus more on my job and how much I really enjoy it. My final lecture would be to pay attention and look for opportunities.   Don’t hesitate to take risks understanding that you can and will learn as you go.   Finally, work hard.   Throughout this course I have found myself paying closer attention around me, ways to improve my situation, and ways to learn.   I have found myself w...

Week 13

This week learning about the importance of preparing yourself, learning through experiences are important to being successful as an entrepreneur.  I have heard people say that people are just born to be entrepreneurs, but through this week’s readings I feel it is possible for anyone if they take opportunities to learn and pay attention to what is happening around them.  It is a goal that is not limited to just those born with the ability.   I always assumed that people who are entrepreneurs jumped right into it early, but the lesson this week encouraged beginning by working for large corporations and then moving into smaller businesses.  Doing so allows you to learn and understand the operations of a business from people who are doing it large scale.  Beginning by working for large corporations also allows you to build relationships that will benefit you in your own business.   One thing I have learned throughout my different...
