Week 13
This week learning about the importance of
preparing yourself, learning through experiences are important to being
successful as an entrepreneur. I have heard people say that people are
just born to be entrepreneurs, but through this week’s readings I feel it is
possible for anyone if they take opportunities to learn and pay attention to
what is happening around them. It is a goal that is not limited to just
those born with the ability.
I always
assumed that people who are entrepreneurs jumped right into it early, but the
lesson this week encouraged beginning by working for large corporations and
then moving into smaller businesses. Doing so allows you to learn and
understand the operations of a business from people who are doing it large scale. Beginning
by working for large corporations also allows you to build relationships that
will benefit you in your own business. One
thing I have learned throughout my different jobs is that relationships I have
built in one job has benefited me in jobs that followed. It has also been one of my attributes that attracted
entities to me to where they sought me out to work for them.
One point I
enjoyed in the readings was that entrepreneurship is the pursuit of
opportunities. Although I am not interested in starting my own business I
feel that I can embrace the entrepreneur spirit by always looking for
opportunities to grow, learn, and better my position. For me entrepreneurship is always improving,
looking to grow, and to make a positive difference. If I make this a part of who I am I have no
doubt that my journey through life will be a journey of improvement, accomplishment,
and of peace and joy. For me
entrepreneurship aligns well with I am taught in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
